Justin is irritated that Alex keeps going into his room and getting stuff without permission. To prevent this from happening in the future, he creates Franken-girl. He uses his laptop's motherboard (Max was supposed to get him a brain, but wasted the money on a keychain), but his plan back fires when Alex shuts Franken-Girl down. Justin uses a spell to make Franken-girl Alex's best friend, but again his plan backfires when Alex and Franken-girl become fast friends. He finally uses a spell to make Franken-girl a cheerleader, ending up with Alex finally have an extra-co curricular and being flown into the roof because of Franken Girl.

When the Waverly Place Merchant's Association confront the Russo's about not having an acceptable Haunted House every year, Alex and Harper go to the Ghost Realm to get ghosts, she get's a bunch of 'losers'. (Jerry told her to get 'mild' ghosts not 'super scary') Teressa, who's usually against using magic, asks Alex to go get much more scary ghosts, but when Alex returns to the realm, they are all gone, except for Mantooth and the ghost with his head separated from its body, getting candy. Alex gets Mantooth. The kids and Mr. Evans have already arrived at the Sub Station, and a few minutes later Alex arrives. Mantooth doesn't scare the children and Mr. Evans the first time, but the second time, all of them are scared (Mr. Evan calls it being scarred for life). He tells them that they can no longer have a haunted house, but at the end of the episode, the family and Harper are proud at what the got.

Justin signs up for Monster Hunting, after he masters his last spell, to complete his wizard training, so knowing Justin could become the full wizard makes Alex study and then she and Harper creates songs to remember spells as Justin does. Max performs a spell that separates his conscience from himself. Then, he performs another spell to make monster go over NYC area to sabotage Justin's training even though his conscience tell him not to. Later, Alex, Max and his conscience goes helping Justin with the monsters and Alex performs two spells successfully and save Justin.

Note: In a rarity for a Disney Channel series, the tag scene in this episode, in which Selena Gomez, David Henrie, Jake T. During the show Alex sings the melody to She'll Be Coming Round the Mountain When She Comes. when she finds out that singing songs is a good way to learn spells the tune justin uses is the Barney theme song which Selena Gomez was in when she was seven. Justin begins his Monster Hunting course and senses that there are three un-registered monsters on Waverly Place. Forgetting that Juliet and her family live there, he tells the professionals, and they come looking for her. Realising his mistake, Justin tries to fix it. Meanwhile, Max tries to separate himself from his conscience because he thinks that he's trying to steal his mom.

Mr. Tootietootie tells Justin that when a mummy looks at a person's eyes, he controls the person forever. Justin and Juliet go to the museum trying to capture this mummy, however; end up getting trapped in an exhibit. Justin believes that they can wait till morning, but vampires die because of sunlight. Justin decides that Juliet needs to look in the mummy's eyes to leave so she will not be destroyed. Meanwhile, Alex separates Max from his conscience and conscience then becomes his own person, therefore Max completely forgets how to make decisions.Alex sees Justin trapped through her magic and rushes to save him. In the end, Alex reunites Max and Max's conscience

After Harper learns her family is moving away, the Russos offer to let Harper live with them. While Alex and Harper clean out the basement to make room for Harper’s stuff, they find Alex's old doll house. Alex shrinks herself down to fit in the doll house to use as her own art studio, but Jerry and Theresa give the doll house away to a little girl with Alex left inside. Meanwhile, Justin makes a Captin Jim Bob space model and trys to get people to bid on it for $400 and with the money buys the doll house back to save Alex.

After Harper wins a marathon, she discovers that Alex used magic to help her win every competition since they were very young, including the marathon. Upset that she never really won anything on her own, Alex decides to let Harper do all the contests again from the past in order to have the opportunity to win without the aid of magic, though things go wrong when Harper proves to be completely incompetent in everything. Meanwhile Justin decides to enter the marathon so he can be the first Russo to win an athletic trophy.

Note: While Alex mentions that she doesn't have an alarm clock, the opening sequence shows that she does have one. Alex starts to date Mason, a transfer student from England. He is perfect in very way with the exception of his view of art. In order to make him a better artist, Alex takes matters into her own hands by putting a spell on Mason to make her his new artistic inspiration.
